JellyStone Park Campground Kingston NS
We went for opening weekend. My husband and I and our 7 year old son. What a wonderful place, my son loved being able to go play without us being on top of him. Great amenities, our site was serviced and close to a washroom. It was opening weekend and there where lots of planned activities. If you are centrally located you are conveniently near everything in the campground. We have since be back many time and now also bring our dog who loves the bark park. There is a cafe with different food options and a rec hall for kids. Every weekend is a different themed weekend with planned activities.
The Kingston location of Jellystone will always have a special place in my heart to me. This is the first place we went to back in our tenting days on our own once we discovered we liked camping once we took our son Josh to Scouts Camp.
The sites here are wonderful. The pull through sites are very spacious and really level right off the get go. Only very small adjustments need to be made left/right. The power and water pressure here are all good, and no smells from the sewage lines. You also get a decent amount of grassy area in the pull through as well if you want to set up a kid’s tent or a big bug screen. Their regular back in spaces are quite generous with space as well, and the grass is always green and thick.
There are always many fun activities here at the campground run by the staff. For parents our highlight is always the “candy bar bingo”. But if not there’s also the arcade, a large field, a disc golf area (which we’ve never taken part of), exercise area, mini golf, and a very well stocked store/office. The staff here are always friendly and will do anything they can to help if you ever need something or have any questions. The campground is always kept clean and you can always find staff around the campground. Wifi here is hit or miss, sometimes it’s really good, other times not so much. On our last trip here in early 2026 they advised us that they had a number of trees and transmitters come down in the harsh winter so the wifi wasn’t working the greatest in the upper areas near the cabins but that they would be working on it. The other thing I absolutely love about this place that we haven’t seen at any other campgrounds is this one has an on site canteen / food place. Poutine, chicken strips, onion rings, ice cream, the works. It’s absolutely wonderful if you’ve been there for a few days already and are tired of cooking, or if you’re tenting and it’s pouring rain you can still get yourself a hot dinner without having to get soaked to get one. Some things are very reasonably priced, others not so much.
If you get bored of the on site activities and want to get away the town of Kingston is a 10 minute drive away. There you can find your standard stores (walmart, canadian tire, sobeys, etc) as well as an indoor play ground if your kids need to burn off some excess energy. There’s also the Greenwood aviation museum. That’s free with a guided tour by donation. We went and had a really great time there. Golf wise there’s a really great course about a 5 minute drive from camp called “Paragon Golf”. Highly recommend.
Overall this place is wonderful. It’s smaller than it’s Cavendish counterpart, but still larger than some other campgrounds we’ve been to. With the plethora of activities, on site canteen, and wonderful staff I give it a solid 4/5. A must visit

This place is where Mommy and Daddy took me on my first real camping trip. The spaces here are really nice, lots of grass for me to roll around in, and there’s lots of room for me to get out and stretch my legs.
Their bark park isn’t super huge, but it is in a nice fenced in area, and plenty of shade. It’s not small but it’s not huge. I can definitely still get my zoomies on in here. Also right outside the bark park is the sandy volleyball area where I can work on my doggy digging skills without anybody getting mad at me (as long as no humans are trying to play volleyball that is). The campground is very clean and so much grass around for me to do my business in. All the staff are super friendly and love to come up and give me some ear scritches.
Overall I’d give it 3.5/5 paws up.
Jellystone Park Campground, Cavendish PEI
This place is wonderful. We always book a pull through camp site and with both the pop up trailer and with the new 30’ft travel trailer the sites are very easy to get in and out of. The only knock against them that I can come up with is when you’re booked in the C section of pull through’s closest to the office the tongue end of the trailer is on a hill that makes it so that in order for your trailer to be level front to back your hitch has to be practically touching on the ground. With our Coachmen we have a sticker on our tongue jack that says “do not lower past this point” and we had our tongue lowered right down to the sticker and inside our level said we were just in the bubble lines, but barely. Because of not being perfectly between the lines our fridge took a little longer to get cold than it normally does (4-6 hours rather than 1-2) but once it got cold it stayed cold. I love this place because all hours of the day there are activities hosted by the campground. It could be pouring rain outside and there will still be activities for the kids to do indoors. Not only that but the entire area of Cavendish has amazing cell service so if you are cooped up indoors you can always use the internet on your phone, and use it as a hot spot for your other devices as needed. The campground itself does offer wifi but like with almost every other camp ground in existence the wifi isn’t really all that good. The pool area is always clean, and while not heated it’s always one of those cases where when you first get in it’s freezing but once your neck deep you never want to leave it just feels so good.
Another thing I like about this campground are the “comfort stations” they have near the top of the campground. These are open for anybody to use at any time. All through the campground they have your standard bathroom/showers but these special comfort stations are a private bathroom you can lock and it’s almost like your own personal oasis. They have a toilet, sink, and a nice large shower, and it’s all yours. There are no fees or anything associated with this.
Should you get bored at this campground or just want some time away you’re already in the scenic and wonderful area of Cavendish and Rustico. There’s a walking path to both the Mariner’s Cove boardwalk, home to Ripley’s Believe it or Not, as well as a was museum, paintball, a couple of food options and a couple souvenir shops, as well as shining waters amusement park. The main Cavendish Boardwalk is also about a 5 minute drive down the way and is always a good way to kill an afternoon. If you’re tired of cooking the Avonlea Village with lots of wonderful food options is next door. If you’re a golf fan like myself you have a couple of Premier golf courses right at your back door with the famous Anne of Green Gables golf course as well as Eagles Glenn. If you like to fish a 10 minute drive is North Rustico with some wonderful places to do dock fishing, as well as several options for a chartered afternoon out on the water guaranteed to come up with something.
Overall this destination is one of my all time favorite places to go. I look forward to it every time we book it. Absolute paradise. 9.5/10. As close as you can get to perfection.

This place is the pup’s woof let me tell ya. First off the bark park here is absolutely amazing. Not only is it a very large fenced in area for me to run around in unleashed where I can get my zoomies on, but they also have lots of obstacles and things for me to run through, jump on, and over. They have a nice big tree for some shade when I need to lay down for a minute, and the thing I appreciate most that I haven’t seen anybody else do is they have a water bowl there with a hose attached so I can drink and drink until my puppy body is nicely full and hydrated and I’m ready for my next round of zoomies.
When I’m back at the trailer the sites here are so large that I can hang outside with mom and dad while attached to the trailer on something called the “leash latch”. I’m able to go my entire 10 foot lead and still be on our site so even though I may bark at and grrr at some other doggies passing by I can’t reach them. I’m also able to hang out at the fire with mom and dad and wait for some pieces of campfire hot dog to magically fall on the ground as they normally do. I really like the ones with ketchup still on them. Also all of the sites here are so grassy it makes my walks really easy.
Speaking of my walks this campground is so massive that I’m able to get a really good walk in the morning and evening while I’m here. We start at our trailer and go alllll the way up to the top where I sniff out the dinosaurs, and then get to walk alllll the way down to the bottom and loop around. By the time I get back from that walk I’m either ready for my breakfast or ready to curl up in bed.
Overall this place gets a 4/5 paws up.
