We’re the Smith Family. Welcome to our blog. We are a Nova Scotian Family who fell in love with camping, one weekend when we went to camp with my son’s scout group. What started as camping in a tent has turned into camping in a 29 foot trailer. What started as a few weekends tent camping quickly turned into a full blown family tradition. Over the years we have explored quiet back roads, hidden campground gems and some of the most beautiful places in Atlantic Canada.
Camping Became our reset button. It’s where we slow down, breath fresh air and reconnect as a family. It’s where our son learned to build his first campfire, where we have burnt marshmallows, forgotten stuff and all. We can’t forget all the back park fun with our wonderful dog Toopy.
We have stayed in everything from basic tents to a 29 foot travel trailer, learning what works and what doesn’t along the way. We’ve had trips where everything went perfectly, and trips we laughed out way through the chaos. Every adventure teaches us something new and every campground gives us a new store to bring home.
This blog is our way of sharing those stories – the good, the messy, the funny, and the unforgettable. We’ll show you the campgrounds we love and review all the ones we have been to. We will share the must have gear, and the real life experiences that shaped our camping journey.
